How long does a roof replacement take?
Most of our roof replacements take one day. It could take up to 2-3 days depending on the size, complexity, and accessibility of your roof.
How long does a roof last?
There are many variables which determine the life span of a roof, including but not limited to, environmental conditions, the type of roof, color of roof, algae, UV/sun exposure; with a roof that is properly installed and with routine maintenance an asphalt roof can last 20-30+ years.
How can you tell if your roof needs to be replaced?
Some things to look for if your roof is aging are; water spots on ceilings or walls, damp/rotten areas on roof sheathing, moss growth, shingles that are stained, missing, curling, buckling, etc.
What causes a roof to wear out?
Most often a roof wears out simply due to age. Constant exposure to the harsh elements eventually causes the roof system to lose its waterproofing capabilities. Some factors contribute to the accelerated deterioration of your roof i.e. lack of routine maintenance, algae, UV/sun exposure, etc.
Is power washing my roof safe?
No, it is not recommended that you power wash your roof. Not only does it damage the surface of the shingles by stripping the granules which may reduce years of your roof life, but it can also force water underneath the shingles causing damage, possibly leaking water into your home.
What is routine maintenance of a roof?
Suggested routine maintenance is; annual roof inspections, keeping roof free from debris such as leaves, tree limbs, heavy ice/snow etc. It is recommended that attics are checked for moisture on the underside of roof sheathing, around chimneys, and plumbing penetrations regularly.
